I'm not one for a lot of makeup posts and my blog is quite fashion based, however for Christmas I love to switch it up and add some sparkles. I thought I'd show you my super highlighted and sparkly look.
Products I used:
E45 Moisturiser
Mac Prep And Prime primer
Mac Studio Sculpt foundation in NC15
Mac Studio Fix concealer
Benefit Dallas blush
Toyshop Glow highlighter
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in transparent
Collection Glam Crystals
Collection black, liquid eyeliner
Mac amplified lipstick in Cosmo
YSL lipstick in Pink In Confidence
So I start off all bare faced with moisturiser and then added Prep and Prime to create an even and sleek base. I always like to start my hair at this point so that I can let all the products sink in fully. I really think that if you have the time, it's best to allow the products to sink in as long as you can, it just makes them work better and create a better base for your makeup.
As you can see, my skin is spot prone with hyper-pigmentation but I'm becoming more confident with it. I've been having a few makeup free days and I think it's really helping. For this look, I wanted a really dull coverage base because its christmas and I want to feel special. Thats why I chose this foundation, it just covers everything and gives you a really healthy glow!!
Anyway, I went for a winged liner look because it makes me super sassy and put together. It also looks really great in photos because it just defines my eyes a bit more because otherwise they kind of sink into my face a bit. Then I added a bit of extra glam by creating a second line with glitter. I love this kind of look because it's so festive and glam but still wearable. It really makes your eyes sparkle and shine, which I love. I mean who doesn't love some extra sparkle?
I also highlighted and blushed the hell out of my cheeks. I love the glowy look, especially because I naturally have quite sallow skin, so it's nice to add some extra colour and glow back in. I love Dallas because it pink but have warm, bronze undertones which just adds a lovely glow to your skin.
For the lips, I went for a really glossy, peach look. I thought it was a bit different to the traditional red and it was perfect for eating with. I love the layered look because the YSL lipstick just adds extra shine and a bit more pink to the middle. The Mac acts as a more pigmented colour and this helps maintain and stain to your lips after eating. It's like layering a gloss and lipstick but in a more pigmented way.
What makeup are you wearing this Christmas?
