Todays collabmas is with the lovely Nicole (ThriftyVintage) and we are talking all about styling christmas jumpers ready for christmas jumper day!!
(Just Sophie jumping in here to say how much I love this jumper!!)
When it comes to Christmas I think there is two kinds of people, the " OMG IT'S CHRISTMAS" the kind of people that will sway towards a very tacky and over the top Christmas jumper which more than likely is top to toe in Christmas lights and bells. And than there's the " Oh its Christmas" kind of people, who lets face it are more likely not going to want to be decked out in lights and tinsel. To suit both polar opposites, I have styled both kinds of jumpers. The first is this men's Christmas jumper from Primark which although is adorable is very tacky. The slightly less tacky option, is this red sparkly one, which was from Matalan. It Is definitely a lot less in your face Christmas and you can probably get away with wearing it all December long. Both of these jumpers I have styled with a Peter pan collar because you know It kind of makes it look like you have made an effort but then again does anyone really make an effort with Christmas jumpers!
As Nicole said, theres two groups of people around christmas time, I think I'm definitely the second! I love christmas and tacky jumpers but I can't stand being covered in all the lights and bells haha! I went for this classic, red jumper because it's my favourite and it's a bit different considering it's a cardigan, woooah.
Anyway, I styled this look more towards a christmas jumper event/party because it's a bit more dressed up than I'd usually go for. I just teamed it with highwaisted jeans and a lace bardot top. I think the jeans just make the outfit streamline and add that more put together element. The bardot top gives it a party vibe, which makes you a little more dressed up, just in case you're the only one who went all out. I've done that before; I wore this jumper with a shirt on but then came to college and no one else was joining in on christmas jumper day. I felt a bit awkward.
I just thought this look would be great because it incorporates the christmas vibes but underneath you have a wearable outfit.
I loved working with Nicole on this post, she is such a fun and lovely person. She's one of the first bloggers I ever spoke to and she really welcomed me into the community. Seriously go check her blog out and follow her because she's such a friendly person and she also gives out fab advice!! So much love for this girl.
