I get stressed easily so I do my best to try and keep my blog organised because that way it's enjoyable, so here's my tips.
Use Your Down Days Productively!
My down days are often Sundays or rainy days. I like to use these to get ontop of blog posts and use them to take a lot of photos. I know I can catch up on any writing later but you need good lighting for photos, I know more cloudy days can be better for photos because you dont get glare or lense flares off the sun. It's a really good idea to use these days to your advantage, instead of having a boring day get up and get things done. By doing this you can still have a social life but still be super organised on your blog.
Build Up A Backlog Of Posts:
I keep all my blog ideas in this book and I highlight the posts I want to get done for these 'down days'. Its a good idea to get as much as you can on down days and then build up a backlog of posts, this way you have something to post whenever you want and if you can't get a post done in the time you expected, you don't have to miss a post.
I know I always have 2-4 posts sitting in my drafts ready to post if I dont like the post for that day or the photos didnt turn out as planned. I build up a backlog by taking a lot of photos at once from the lists of ideas I have and then writing them later, or I photograph little ideas like an outfit I liked because I know thats what I like to write about so I have them waiting.
This is probably my biggest tip because it calms me down and makes me less stressed if a post doesn't turn out how I wanted because I know I always have my ideas lists and spare or backlogged photos and posts.
Make Your Ideas Visual To Help You See Your Workload:
I use different stationary to keep my idea book visual because thats how I can understand what I have to do. I know it sounds simple but it works. I use Alpaca sticky notes to highlight posts I have a plan for/the date I want it to go up/if I need research/if i need photos. You could do this with post-it-notes on your wall or notifications on your phone but by keeping your blog planned that you understand is the best thing to do to keep posts organised. For me I find that if I write things down I'm more likely to remember, also the use of colours and pictures help me because it's visual and in your face so you can always notice it.
Take Inspirations and save them:
I do this in diary form but you could do this on Pinterest, Tumblr or save images onto your computer. I keep little cut outs of anything that inspires me because then I know I have a source of ideas for posts; everyone gets writers block and I do this so I dont get discouraged and I always have a source of imagery to get inspiration from. I've had a mind block and got really stressed because I thought I'd never have another good idea and I just couldn't find inspiration, so I started doing this. I take inspiration from everywhere, magazines, colours, plants and even my washi tape, it sounds strange but I find colours and patterns really inspiring of things like blog background or colour themed outfits.
I keep my blog organised doing these simple things and they are really easy if you just use your time productively, when you can. Dont be afraid to take the time you need to become inspired and create the content you want to. I'm going to keep this series going with a How I take/edit Blog Photos and Blog Post Ideas.
Hope this helped xo
