I go as a pixie for most Halloween parties but I've never found many tutorials, so I thought I'd put together the look I did last year.
What I used:
Pixie ears (Ebay or any dress up shops sell them)
Everyday foundation and concealer
Pink blush
Light pink lipstick
Darker pink lipstick
Sparkly eyeliner (collection)
Nail art sparkles
Eyelash glue
Cream and powder highlighter
Firstly, I just used my pink blusher in the places that you usually put contour. I just shaped out my face with it, this acts as a transition for the rest of the pinks and helps to blend them out. Then I added a pink lipstick on top but didn't blend it out as far. You can go out and buy face paints but I figured this out the night before, so it's a really easy, last minute look. Adding the lipstick adds a more lighter, noticeable pink and you can layer this up with as many different shades as you want.
Then I added the highlighter; I used a strobing technique, but this basically means you put the highlighter on every high point of your face. I put it on the tops of my cheeks, on top of my brows, on the bridge of my nose, cupids bow, chin and a tiny bit on my forehead. I stared with a cream highlighter and then set it with a power. I also took the power onto my neck and arms because it ties in the face with the rest of your body and gives a more magical look.
For the sparkles around the eyes, I just used nail art sparkles and stuck them on with eyelash glue. This is really easy and you can do it with other things, like leaves or flowers.
I focussed on pinks and blues with the sparkles because it tied in with the undertones of the highlighter.
On the eyes I did a double winged eyeliner but it went wrong. It did work really great last year, all you do is a normal wing but add two flicks and it gives a more wide eye look. Then I the original blush into the crease and on the lower lash line, again it acts as a transition shade. Using the Collection Crystal eyeliner I just covered the lid in sparkles. I didn't blend it because I liked the intense look.
The last things I did was putting pink lipstick on my lips and then a darker pink lipstick on my eyebrows. I think the pink on the eyebrows is a bit strange but it adds a strange look to your face and gives a more creepy vibe, which makes the whole costume look better because it looks like you put more effort in. I used the tip on the lipstick so I could define my brows and then it didn't look like I'd just smeared pink across my face.
This look is great if you want to dress up but you're not into blood and creepy things, also it's easy to create using things in your makeup collection. It's cheap and simple, so I hope you enjoyed. What are you going as this year?

DeleteThis is such a great idea for Halloween. I love dressing up but I hate putting in hours just to get a look right. A Pixie is easy to manage and actually a very unique costume. I´ve never seen anything like this around. Also this look really suits you (as a costume, of course!
